I started Starrcade '88 last night and will probably finish it up today or tonight. Add another to my bank of old school reviews. I need to get the next one sent in, which is something else I'll probably try to do today.

I'll probably check one out then. Their shows are only 5 bucks. I just didn't want to watch a bunch of hardcore matches for no reason. I didn't know what to think because while ICP's music is awful I do like them as people. They pretty much built a huge audience on their own with no help form the radio or any record labels. You really have to respect that.

They've helped make some guys noticed. In JCW Vol. 2 they had a still green Chris Hero wrestling. And they buried him in the commentary- Great fun. They're a good Indy, and no wonder ROH raids their talent once in a while. Kevin Gill's the current booker and he keeps it simple and fun, with the occasional bloodbath (usually involving Necro or Pondo) thrown in for good measure.

If you want a taste, check their YT channel.

And, also, how can you not dig a company that had a "dead body" as champion and where one guy wrestled as Fat F**k Barrel Boy?

SHIMMER VOL 36

Filed under: The Pro Wrestling, SHIMMER
Credit to diva-dirt for the re-cap, and match listing, and spoilers… so dont read if you want to watch the show.

Image
Diva Dirt is on hand at this weekend’s SHIMMER festivities in Berwyn, Illinois where the company will be taping four volumes worth of footage. Keep checking back throughout the weekend for exclusive news, results and more.

1. Mercedes Martinez def. Nikki Roxx with the fisherman buster. Shocking first match because a lot of fans thought Mercedes would have the title shot on this volume.

2. Jamilia Craft def. Bonesaw Jessie Brooks with a belly to belly slam.

3. Mena Libra def. Taylor Made with a Samoan drop.

Amber Gertner comes to the ring to conduct an interview with Del Rey. SDR quickly banishes Amber and began talking smack about Serena. Various faces and heels came out. Referee Bryce Remsburg makes it an 8 woman Survivor Series-style elimination tag match in the main event. Ayumi Kurihara, Cheerleader Melissa, Hamada & Serena vs Sara Del Rey, Madison Eagles, Tomoka Nakagawa & Daizee Haze.

4. Leva Bates def. Cat Power with a roll up. Leva is extremely over and has oodles of potential.

5. Veronika Vice def. Jessica James with a neckbreaker. Pretty sloppy in the beginning. Veronika isn’t connecting well in the ring.

6. Misaki Ohata def. Kellie Skater via submission. Tremendous match!

Next is Athena vs Nevaeh. Athena has really impressed this weekend!

7. Nevaeh def. Athena with a devastating German suplex into a bridging pin.

Tenille & Jessie McKay vs Canadian Ninjas next for the SHIMMER Tag Team Championship. DD Jennifer had a sign saying ‘Aussies are greater than Ninjas’. Nicole ‘corrected’ her. Jennifer has gotten into another argument. Uh oh!

8. Canadian Ninjas def. Tenille & McKay to retain. Ninjas showing signs of dissension.

Daffney vs Rachel Summerlyn in an ‘I Quit’ match next. Daffney cuts an amazing promo beforehand.

9. Rachel Summerlyn def. Daffney in an ‘I Quit’ match. Rachel made Daff quit after a cloverleaf on the ropes! Rachel was busted open legit at one point!

10. Ayumi Kurihara, Cheerleader Melissa, Hamada & Serena def. Daizee Haze, Madison Eagles, Sara Del Rey & Tomoka Nakagawa in an 8-woman elimination tag match. Awesome main event! Order of elimination: Nakagawa, Serena, Daizee, Ayumi, Del Rey. Melissa pinned Madison. Hamada & Melissa are sole survivors!

Hands down I think this was the best SHIMMER show I had seen, as far as match quality top to bottom, and that even includes Cat Power vs. Leva bates, which left alot to Leva Bates. OK, honestly the opening match wasn’t that great either. BUT THE REST WAS GREAT STUFF!

4. Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega & Kazuki Hirata Vs KUDO, Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi

DDT is a fed I would watch if I had more time and if more people cared about it, because it is difficult to find anyone to discuss it with. This is a travesty. DDT is one of the best promotions as far as lightweight action mixed with insane antics. Now I’ll be honest, I don’t get half the shit they do. That first match, Super Shit Machine… really? I don’t get it, but it’s still fucking funny. Match #2 was another strange melee where the announcer gets involved, but I like Antonia Honda a lot and I like Nakazawa as well, plus add in HARASHIMA, and THEN the return of HERO! (who used to be HARASHIMA under the mask. Saski vs Ishii was a solid juniors match and then the main match was pretty awesome. It doesn’t get better then Danshoku Dino for pure bizarreness, Kenny Omega should be in the WWE, Kota Ibushi is simply an awesome wrestler that even people in the States know about, KUDO has always been good…. seriously some good shit and a great ending as the debut(?) of Ryan Genesis is handled pretty freaking well…. to be continued….

1. Super Shit Machine Vs Yasu Urano
4. GENTARO (Freedoms) Vs Takao Soma
5. Bob Game 2nd Season: Danshoku Dino Vs Ryan Genesis
6. HARASHIMA & HERO! Vs Kenny Omega & Keisuke Ishii
7. Kota Ibushi, Antonio Honda & Daisuke Sasaki Vs Dick Togo, Gedo (New Japan) & Tomohiro Ishii

During match #1 Super Shit Machine starts to lose so he runs to the back and then suddenly reappears, but now he has green boots instead of blue boots, he blasts Yasu Urano with a bunch of clotheslines and a suplex and wins the match. I think Super Shit Machine is two guys, not one. The Bella Twins can’t hold a candle to a guy named Super Shit Machine. Then the second SSM shows up and they destroy a bunch of guys. So there ARE 2 Super Shit Machines! And they decide to get involved in the GENTARO vs. Soma match. I think there is a Shit Foundation or a Shit Dynasty in DDT. There is even a dirty referee who works for the Shit Heart ♥ Foundation. Craziness.

They show hi-lights of a Dino vs. Jonathan Gresham match and I believe the deal is that Bob Sapp is sending Americans to destroy Dino???? Craziness. The match was a typical comedy Dino match with him winning with a sleeper kiss? Poor Ryan Genesis, I never heard of the guy, feel even worse for him. Omega & Ishii vs. HERO! and HARASHIMA was OK, but HERO! won by cheating so that’s interesting. Main event was an OK match as well. DDT puts on solid matches but only a few guys really shine above and beyond, like Kota Ibushi, Danshoku Dino, and a few others, but it is a very fun promotion to follow.

Good to very good YouShoot. I don’t exactly like the Youshoot format but it’s original, I guess, and it gives the fans a chance tointeracte. Perry was very forthright, although maybe he was angling to get back in the business so he didn’t want to say anything bad about anyone, although there were a few guys he did bury. Overall a story about drugs and sex, I think most people will like it.

Agreed Taso, i did a review of this for the site, maybe Jack passed it over or something. While Saturn isn't the most social or charismatic wrestler in existence, he still made this youshoot great with stories of moppy and raven and the flock. I give it two big thumbs up.

I think Ultimo is one of the most underrated wrestlers in history, even though his own personal record and career would say otherwise. He is the father of Dragongate, a WCW Cruiserweight Champion, a Mexican institution, and a straight up mack daddy in the ring. Now one thing I must say, other then that all these matches were off the hook brilliant. The CMLL match, at first, I am like, wtf. I don’t want to sit through all of this crazy lucha madness. In the end I thought it was one of the best matches I had seen in a long time. I was NOT shocked when I searched for the names of all the competitors in this match, to find out it had made the DVDVR Playerz (and total douchebags) top 50 list of 90’s Lucha matches.

Bruce Hart Highspots Shoot 2010

What can I say... at first I am watching this like, I have heard all this crap before. I am not a Hart family expert by any stretch, but I have read about 4 books from various family members. But as we kept going and the personal feelings and stuff came out and we got away from dry history lessons.... its fucking Bruce fucking Hart.

I like the guy, he comes off sympathetic and pretty sensible, and I suggest this shoot for anyone interested in Hart family, Stampede, etc.

He comes off sympathetic in some ways and sensible, honest, shooting straight and that's what you want from these dvds. Just the truth, and yes, even if its brutal. He doesn't bury McMahon either, interestingly, and I doubt he's angling for a job. In any business, stuff happens, and although I'm no expert on the subject, I blame Vince and I don't like his business tactics, who would be successful if they weren't a scumbag, especially in a scummy business like pro wrestling.

There are about 8 sections. Benoit, Davey Boy, Bret, Dynamite, House Divided, Owen... I thought House Divided was the best one... again, good shoot and worth it. Nothing mind-blowing, just a look inside.

Bruce should do a Fantasy Booker dvd.

thanks Prez. Yeah, Bruce was very calm and also articulate and he def has a keen mind. why wouldn't he, right? I might disagree with one thing and that's his feelings on Bad News impact on Stampede. I dont remember exactly what he said but he wasn't nice, obviously both guys did not like each other at all.

1.Terry Gordy vs Bruiser Brody Barbed Wire Match
This match was ok I guess ,but I couldn't really call it a match. Most of it was them struggling with each other while trying to push the other into the barbed wire. At least they actually looked concerned about the wire instead of some matches where people take the barbed wire like it is nothing.

2.Terry Gordy and The Great Kabuki vs Bruiser Brody and The Missing Link
This match started out well enough with Brody and Gordy brawling ,but eventually they brawled all the way to the back never coming back into the match. It then consisted mainly of nerve holds from Kabuki before ending in a DQ. I hate nerve holds in pro wrestling it usually just looks like a guy gently poking or holding a guy while te announcer acts like it is the most dangerous thing ever.

3.Dr. Death Steve Williams and Sting vs Jushin Liger and Erik Watts WCW 12-28-92
This match was good ,but Watts was terrible. Luckily the three other men were able to make up for it. I just couldn't buy him going toe to toe with Williams at one point in the match. Also this match has the infamous Watts dropkick which was pathetic and his STF doesn't look powerful at all. Sting and Williams worked good as a team.

4.Dr. Death Steve Williams vs Ron Simmons WCW 12-28-92
This match was pretty good with both men going back and forth with power moves. It should be noted that originally Rude was going to face Simmons ,but Williams was a replacement due to Rude being injured.

1.Toshiaki Kawada vs Mitsuharu Misawa AJPW 4-11-94
This was a good match with the majority of it having both men trying to outstrike each other it wasn't really a brawl instead it was each guy countering a strike and then the other guy would get familiar with the other guy and find another way to counter with neither really ever getting much of an advantage which showed with the ending of this match.

2.Ric Flair vs Pete Sanchez 3-2-96 Flair's Madison Square Garden Debut!
This match started with Sanchez going after Flair with some powerful arm drags and focusing on Flair's arm eventually The Nature Boy took advantage and started pounding the guy mainly with some knees that were so low you couldn't tell if they were to the body or the groin all the while saying "Dynamite, Woo!". Flair scoop slammed the hell out of Sanches and then ended the match with a really powerful vertical suplex. It's really weird seeing Flair use a suplex as a finisher, Sanchez had these horrible striped tights, and McMahon did a really bad job commentating. All in all not a bad match.

10. International Ribbon tag team championship: Emi Sakura & Ray (c) Vs Hikaru Shida & Syrui (SMASH)
11. ICEx60 championship: Tsukasa Fujimoto (c) Vs Tsukushi

-------------------------------------------
22 minute mark: After the first 22 minutes of this I want to kill myself. If Makoto is the best wrestler in Ice Ribbon, you are in big shit. At least, some of the women have interesting gimmicks. Aika Ando shows people her bikini-covered bosom as a maneuver. Riho is around 14 years old. Meari Naito plays air guitar throughout her match. At least the first round was clipped. I think Tamako's gimmick is that she is very stupid. She lost her match via rock, paper, scissors, even after Shigehiro Irie put out his hand as a rock, she paused, then put down scissors for the loss. This is very strange stuff.

The matches are mixed tags with 5 minute time limits, and if time runs out, its rock, paper, scissors. Makoto & Munenori Sawa make the finals as do... err... I don't know.

47 minute mark: Kagetu Vs Chii Tomiya had some cool spots, good hope spots, but Kagetsu dominated, and kept her titles. I liked this match, turned the event around, so I'm hoping the home stretch is good. http://representingpuroresu.wordpress.com/ is a good hook up for infomation on all Japanese wrestling and has a great joshi section. Chii Tomiya is the shortest active wrestler in joshi, listed at 4'8". Interesting. I thought Natsuki*Taiyo or Commando Bolshoi would be the shortest joshi wrestlers in history.

1 hour mark: Neko Nitta & Makoto Oishi beat Makoto & Munenori Sawa for the tourney trophies in a match that could be deemed good for this level of Joshi. Neko Nitta does a cat gimmick, where she claws and rakes people, and she even chases scarfs and string! Uncanny.

1 hr and 26 mins: Emi Sakura & Ray (c) Vs Hikaru Shida & Syrui ends with the champs retaining. I forget how awesome Sakura is, and now Syrui is my new favorite woman wrestler. She's frikking good. Excellent match where Sakura just got kneed and kicked in the head and face a TON, Ray was great, and the young tag team was solid, tough, and nasty.

main event: I have to stop starting off a show with doubts and with so much cynicism. I thought this match was going to be stupid. Why the fuck am I watching a 12 year old fight a 20 year old for a title? This is gonna suck! Nope. Best match on the card. 12 year old doing tiger suplexes, glam slams, and every other conceivable move. Tsukasa Fujimoto is one of the young ladies that wrestled for CHIKARA in 2011. Tsukushi is the young girl, probably;y no more then 11-13 years old. They out on a crazy match. Big ups. Ice Ribbon has a new fan.

1.Mimi Hagiwara and Ohmori Yukari vs Devil Masami and Taranutla WWWA 1982
The first fall was a wild brawl with chains, a kendo stick, and chairs being used and the referre got bodyslammed multiple times. After that it was mainly Masami and Tarnatula cheating. This match was ok nothing special though.

2.Devil Masami and Jaguar Yokota vs Candy Okutsu and Dynamite Kansai
This match was fantastic from beginning to end. There was plenty of high flying and double team manuevers as well. Yokota had some brutal piledrivers while Masami had an awesome Tiger Driver and a really impressive Jumbo Suplex.

"Guest Booker with Raven Booking Hall & Nash in ECW".

I'm sure all the Raven and ECW fans on here have already seen it, if not buy it. Raven is a genius. He should be booking somewhere. Like TNA. He'd look good in Russo's chair.

Also I recommend this to any Outsiders fans. Pretty much like a Marvel What-If? about Hall and Nash not going to WCW, but invading ECW instead in 1996.

A must-watch.

Both of these powerhouses just brawled back and forth , with Vader trying to trap Atlas in the Corner and Atlas fighting his way out. But after stunning Atlas with a short arm clothesline Vader finished him off with a 2nd rope splash.

2.Big Van Vader vs Dustin Rhodes WCW 11-21-92 King of Cable Semi Finals Match
This good match started with both men brawling with Rhodes able to attain an advantage because of his lariats. However, after a counter Vader Attack in the corner Rhodes began to get dominated ,but was making a comeback until his clothesline was countered with a powerful clothesline from Vader who then dragged him back into the ring and finished his opponent once again with a 2nd rope splash.

3.Big Van Vader vs Sting WCW 12-28-92 King of Cable Finals Match
Wow it's crazy how much Sting has changed he went from this impressive looking guy who did these crazy kicks and suicide dive crossbodies to this unimpressive old man who doesn't even try. Sting and Vader always had a good match. There was some really impressive spots in this match like when Stind did this crazy flip kick out of nowhere, or where he turned a headlock into this awesome back suplex, or the end of the match which was also awesome.

J.J.DILLION V ANESTIS BRESNICK

Disc # 1

This was called BIG TIMNE WRESTLING. They were in a studio, small audience. They would do circle vision, I guess you can call it, where the screen would be in the shape of a circle and would zoom in on a particular wrestler.

FABULOUS KANGAROO’S V JIM WADDELL/BIG REDD
The Fabs are Al Costello and Bob Heffner, whom I can’t find listed in any incarnation of the Kangaroos. They did this little warm up routine before thw match that was odd and funny at the same time, something to piss off their opponents. This match was all Kangaroos. Lots of heavy forearms to the chest, lots of chops to the jaw by Costello, lots of cheating and double teaming, but real old school, slow, plodding even, and Waddell just looked like some bum off the streets. Big red came in and he did kicked the Kangaroos asses but his partner just got his ass handed to him as the Roos won the match.

JOHN IRISH V ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER
Abby just attacked his opponent right off the bat and beat him in like 10 seconds. Mark Lewin, who was on commentary with someone else, went to the ring to help Johnny Irish.

BILLIE BYRD V THE SHEIK

The fans were cheering the Sheik, so he was a babyface, but he didn’t do anything but beat the shit out of this guy Byrd in a heelish fashion. Lewin kept commenting on how Sheik was a good guy now, but he was biting the guy’s forehead! He won with a camel clutch, and then, just like any good guy, he slapped it on the guy again. I loved his pointy boots, by the way.

The music in between the breaks was awesome porno music.

STEVE COOPER V AUSTIN IDOL

The Universal Heartthrob looked great, his opponent, not so great. These jobbers were just straight up awesome jobber-jobbers. Just guys off the street-level nobodies. Only Big Red was any good. Idol beat his guy up with the usual 70’s offense, hit a weird clothesline that his jobber buddy messed up, then won the match with an Atomic Noogie to the forehead!? Mark Lewin called it something but I didn’t catch what he called the maneuver.

More to come… just havin fun…

DORY FUNK JR/PIERRE LaFIVE V KURT VON HESS/BULLDOG DON KENT

Pierre LaFive is no where to be found on the internet. So THAT’S why he gets his ass kicked by Von Hess and Kent. I hate Bulldog kent, always have. he just looks like a fat pud. They heel it up and beat the shit out Pierre, but then the hot tag comes and Dory kicks their asses, schoolboys Von Hess, who appears to make zero attempt to kick out of the hold, and Dory wins it all by himself. Bulldog grabs a chain and he busts open Dory, out runs Terry Funk and Mark Lewin. They bandage Dory right there in the ring and back out comes Bob Kent. Dory wants to fight and even gives Kent his back, getting down on all fours, but Kent won’t bite. Funny stuff.

GARTH VADER V STAN STASIAK

Holy shit! Garth Vader is a guy in a Superstar mask! I was expecting more. Stan Stasiak was old here, as was everyone on this show! These two fought tooth and nail but Stan pretty much pummeled Garth from the get go. It went a while actually, with Garth getting some offense in here and there, but Stan was just toying with him. Then, The Sheik came out, Stan hit the heart punch and pinned Garth! Then Stan and The Shiek went at it, with a chair, with a small table. Mark Lewin grabbed Stan and Shiek hit him with the chair, but it was very worked, he didn’t lay it on. They circled each other for the remainder of the show, and Stan even got to cut a promo on Sheik about the fire, and that he would be all over him like a fly, and stiff that made little sense and wasn’t very good.

No wonder Big Time Wrestling and the Detroit territory went under.

HELL’S ANGELS V ARNOLD SKAALAND/J.J.DILLION

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWjpHuMx … 81943E6275

Bob Finnegan for Lord Athol Layton… CALIFORNIA Hell’s Angels, they are called, to be more specific. In looking into some info on this match and this tag team I find out one of the Hell’s Angel’s is frikkin’ Chris Colt. 12/2/1969 is the date for this match. From youtube ltrott3: After this match, the HAs went to the Phoenix territory and became the Commancharos. They then proceeded to get the promotion kicked off the local TV by burning an American flag on air.” And also from ltrott3 on youtube: The other HA was Ron Dupree. He was forced to stop wrestling due to a heart condition (can you say Randy “The Ram” Robinson?) So he became a ring announcer. Six months in, he dropped dead of a heart attack after announcing the opening match of a card.

I love the gear the Angel’s are wearing, this faux-jeans and bikers boots, cut off shirt sleeves. Pretty awesome. Tons of cheating by the HA’s, tons of hair pulling and double teaming, lots of blatant choking and ghost tags, I really liked this match because of their cheating, and the total lameness of Skaaland and JJ. The HA’s win with a Bombs Away knee drop from the top.

JIM PATERUSKI V THUNDERBOLT PATTERSON
Straight squash match, Thunderbolt does alot of strutting around, lots of shots to the throat, and wins with a punch to the jaw.

THE SPOILER V SPIROS ARION
Spiros is billed from Greece. The Spoiler is not THE Spoiler. I am quite sure of it, but PM me if I am wrong. Spiros beats his opponent very fast with a shin breaker, not a good match.

BLACKJACK GORDON V BIG JESS ORTEGA
I wouldn’t know who is the guy whose gonna go over from the start of this match. Ortega is a big guy, very wide. These guys were just terrible. Gordon tried to out-muscle Ortega to his dismay. Body scissors by Ortega, he gives him a “raspberry” which I call atomic nuggies. Gordon tried a lot of offense but Ortega shrugged much of it off. Ortega won with the splash.

MARK LEWIN V OX BAKER

Lewin looked “for real”, and OX was bald even back then. He was already a middle-aged guy at this time. Ox was the heel, and he tried a few shortcuts. I liked the OX bearhug where Lewin immediately went to the bell-ringer to get out. Lewin wins with a sleeper hold in a short match. He then had to “wake him up” with the slap on the neck, very old school, loved it.

JUNIOR PATERUSKI V KILLER KARL KOX

Kox goes to his trunks and punches and chokes Pateruski right away. He totally abuses this guy with the foreign object, we never get to see it, he wins the match. then Killer Karl cuts a God-awful promo about Detroit and how bad it is living there. he talks about The Sheik and how he wants to win the United States Title. Out comes “The Weasel”, a guy in a Fez cap. Kox says The Sheik blinded him with fire once. “The Weasel” says after the Sheik blinds him again they will buy him a tin cup and some pencils and he can start a new career. Great promo from that guy. Kox then shakes the interviewer’s hand. He comes off all wrong, cheating in the ring, but then being sorta a nice guy during the interview.

J.J.DILLION V ANESTIS BRESNICK

Anestis is billed from Russia. Everyone works the same. Hidden punches, chokes, head-lock take downs. Standard match, same as the rest, but the show ends before the match does. Nice twist we don’t see these days, but, leaves me thinking, what happens? But then again, this was so boring I didn’t care.

Overall: Historically, worth a look. Fucking shit, Chris Colt! JJ Dillon! Mark Lewin! And “The Weasel”! I liked that guy. A lot of these matches are on youtube if you want to see them. Big Time Wrestling!

Shouldn't this be in the wrestling forum section, possibly as a sticky?

CZW “Tangled Web 4″ 8/12/11

Image

TWO RING AERIAL ASSAULT MATCH:
Chrisjen Hayme, HyZaya, tHURTeen, Ryan McBride, Latin Dragon, Derek Frazier, Ty Hagan and Pinkie Sanchez

ULTRAVIOLENT TABLES MATCH:
Matt Tremont vs. Rory Mondo

Sami Callihan vs. BJ Whitmer

Greg Excellent vs. CZW Owner DJ Hyde’s Mystery Opponent (The Nigerian Nightmares)

FOUR WAY DANCE TO EARN A SHOT AT THE CZW WORLD TAG TITLES:
The Runaways (Joe Gacy/Ryan Slater) vs. BLK OUT (Ruckus/Alex Colon) vs. The Set (Lance Lude/J-Sinn) vs. Azrieal/Bandido, Jr

CZW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE, LUMBERJACK STRAP MATCH:
Champion Devon Moore vs. BLK JEEZ

TWO RING PSYCHO CIRCUS DEATH MATCH:
Drake Younger vs. Scotty Vortekz

I was going to do a review of this show however it has been 2 weeks since I watched it and now i don’t wish to sit through it again, so I will make a few notes about Tangled Web 4.

The opening match was a series of dives and high-risk spots, lots of chaos and bad high-spot wrestling in the middle, then a flurry of finishes, and then a finish that seemed contrived considering there were 8-9 wrestlers in the match but just 3 made it into the ring for this long-winded finish. The 4-way tag title match wasn’t bad either but it wasn’t really good either, and whether or not Joe Gacy and Ryan Slater have been around too long, or whatever the hell their status is in CZW (I dont watch every show, just about 3-4 a year), I think they are the most professional LOOKING team in the group. Why they don’t get the win but it given to outsiders Azrieal and Bandido, I don’t know. This new tag team I have never seen before, The Set, man, they were awful in their look, but they did do some nice double team maneuvers.

Matt Tremont vs Little Mondo was shitty but I see something good in Tremont. If he were a few inches taller I’d say he had a future. Greg Excellent is a guy I simply don’t like to watch in the wrestling ring, but then to have him killed by the Nigerian Nightmares, well, it was great actually. I hate Greg Excellent. But that segment took way too long.

Sami Callihan vs BJ Whitmer was the best match on the show. they kicked each others ass, they told a great story with DJ Hyde, it was all very good.

The CZW World Title match was shitty. I like Black jeez a lot. I don’t understand the Devon Moore & CZW love affair. But the match was pitiful, although I believe Moore really hurt himself which called for the shitty finish. The only good thing I can honestly say was the chaos that ensued during and after this match and the Greg Excellent match; that is what makes CZW appealing to me.

Drake Younger vs Scotty Vortekz, a nice and nasty match but too contrived. This constant, incessant talk about the Naptown Dragons… who the hell has heard or cares about, the Naptown Dragons? It’s bizarre because from what I have read, there are just three guys in that group and one of them doesn’t even have his own wikipedia page, he doesn’t warrant a wiki page so then who cares to be honest about the Naptown Dragons? They trained together? Well, that’s cool for an under card match because Scotty Vortekz is a nice wrestler but to main event the guy is bizarre to me. Drake Younger as the Golden Boy is great and should stay a heel. Now I may be foggy on facts and that’s fine because I am not shooting this off to the Wall Street Journal or the NY Times, but IMO, just because a guy is willing to go through panes of glass or get dumped onto a web of barbwire, it doesn’t mean he should main event a card. And on top of that, Vortekz fucks his hand up early in the match, cuts it badly in a pane of glass spot, so you have this terrible injury this kid has to deal with throughout a dangerous match. There is a scaffold above the web of barbwire, and the spots coming off that scaffold just look like shit, totally set-up. Mondo and fat ass Zandig set their crazy spots up a lot better then Younger and Vortekz.

Rob Naylor is shit on commentary. Just the shits. I don’t even know who the other guy is, and I dont care. I miss Eric Gargiulo and John House. I would watch more CZW stuff if those two were announcing.

1.Terry Gordy vs Raven ECW 1996
The majority of this match was Gordy beating and brutalizing Raven around the ring with some chairs and barbed wire before outside interference on both sides led to the end of this match.

2.Terry Gordy vs Kenta Kobashi AJPW 5-21-93
After some initial grappling exchanges this match descended into brawling with Kobashi gaining the inital advantag ,but Gordy got the advantage after countering an attempted barrier DDT from Kobashi into a chokeslam. Eventually this match turned into Gordy trying to stop Kobashi's moonsault at all costs. This match was good.

3.The Fabulous Freebirds(Gordy, Hayes, and Roberts) vs Curt Hennig, Tom Zenk, and Buck Zumhoff AWA 1985
Man this match was really good. Right off the bat Gordy and Hennig went right at it with Gordy countering an Irish whip with this really impressive springboard crossbody from the corner which surprised the hell out of me. Eventually Roberts started to get ganged up on ,but while the referee was busy with Zenk and Hennig Zumhoff fell victim to the dreaded three man Freebird piledriver.

4.The Miracle Violence Connection(Dr. Death Steve Williams and Terry Gordy) vs Toshiaki Kawada and Mitsuharu Misawa AJPW June 1991
There as lots of good double team action during this match. In particular this really stiff double clothesline from Doc and Gordy stood out. Anybody who's seen 90's AJPW or any of these guys knows that this was a good match.
