RIP

"Kid" was one heck of a ballplayer. There are not many catchers who were as talented and had the passion that he did. He's was the epitome of his nickname, and the Mets wouldn't have won in '86 if he wasn't there. It's hard to believe that the Expos once had Andre Dawson, Tim Raines and Gary Carter on the same team.

Sad news...always been a Yanks fan, but growing up in NJ during the mid-late 80s those Mets teams were a ton of fun to watch and Gary Carter was tremendous, one of the best power-hitting catchers of all time.. Enjoyed him on color during the Marlins games here in FL too..

RIP Gary
