Secondly okay why would wrestling fans watch MMA? Especially when you read any MMA reporter's opinion they rip Wrestling constantly. So if your TNA are you benefitting from MMA media ripping you apart as a joke and the guy you just signed to wrestle? and if your the MMA promotion are you benefitting from your media outlets attacking you for getting involved with Professional Wrestling?

If wrestling fans were to follow that line of reasoning, they'd have to stop watching pretty much ANY legit sport, since Pro-Wrestling is viewed as being maybe a half-rung above amputee porn on the dignity ladder by most sports-media types..

The truth is , there is a Big crossover in the fanbases of MMA and Wrestling..UFC has been incorporating a lot of Pro-Wrestling showmanship in their presentations for yrs now..(heel promos, entrance themes pyro etc ) . Now, I will say there are more wrestling fans who like MMA than vice-versa, but its a pretty sizeable crossover nonetheless..

You know in your big crossover point you should no crossover between MMA Fans coming over to Wrestling right? there are Wrestling fans who watch MMA and maybe TNA can accomplish this but there aren't many UFC fans I know that are Wrestlign fans. most of them were guys who watched during the attitude Era and openly rip it now.

Well, I don't think he'll be better than Lesnar, but this King Mo guy can't be any worse than Bobby Lashley.

TNA, Spike TV and Bellator Fighting Championships officially announced the signing of former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Muhammad "King Mo" Lawal earlier this afternoon. Here is their official press release regarding the signing:
KING MO, BELLATOR AND TNA WRESTLING JOIN FORCES FOR UNPRECEDENTED ALLIANCE ON SPIKE TV

Former Light Heavyweight Champ to Fight for Bellator in 2013 And Join the Stars of TNA Wrestling This Summer

New York, NY, May 10, 2012 – In an unprecedented move – one of the biggest names in mixed martial arts, "King Mo" Lawal, has signed a deal to compete in Spike TV's two major sports properties, Bellator Fighting Championships and TNA's IMPACT Wrestling. King Mo will join the stars of TNA this summer and resume his mixed martial arts career next year when Bellator Fighting Championships moves to Spike TV from its current television home, MTV2. The deal was jointly announced today by Kevin Kay, President, Spike TV along with Bjorn Rebney, Chairman & CEO, Bellator Fighting Championships and Dixie Carter, President, TNA Entertainment.

"King Mo is an incredible athlete and a great addition to the Bellator family. He immediately adds prominence and star-power to our light heavyweight division," said Rebney.

"King Mo is the perfect athlete for this type of alliance. He is the real deal in MMA, and his bold personality and world class wrestling accomplishments are unparalleled. I'm confident he will have a major impact in both sports," stated Carter.

Lawal (10-1-1) launched his mixed martial arts career in 2008, and after four straight wins, he faced off against his toughest challenge, renowned fighter Mark Kerr. King Mo knocked out Kerr in the first round, and eight months later he defeated Gegard Mousasi in a Light Heavyweight world title fight. Lawal also holds an impressive KO victory against multiple-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Roger Gracie in September 2011.

"This deal is a dream come true for me," Lawal said. "Bjorn and Dixie have given me the opportunity to engage in my two great loves, mixed martial arts and professional wrestling, at the same time. And, to have it all on Spike TV is really Buttercream icing on a big ole cake – not that whipped cream stuff either!"

King Mo rose to grappling acclaim as a NCAA Division I All-American wrestler at Oklahoma State University in 2003 and a three-time U.S. National Champion (2005, 2006, and 2008) in the 84 kilogram division. In 2007, as a member of the U.S. National team, he brought home a gold medal at the Pan American Games and a silver medal at the World Cup.

A native of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Lawal lives in San Jose, Calif. and trains with the prominent American Kickboxing Academy.

He isn't a trained wrestler. Also, he might think he is charismatic and his team might project him as a colorful personality, but he seemed to be and average joe when his interviews came up when he was in strikeforce. I personally was a fan of his in mma cause he was an exciting fighter and not the lay n pray type that most wrestler are, but most likely will not be a good fit for tna. Also, there were rumors that he might be hired by ufc when his suspension ended. I honestly don't know why he came to fucking bellator. He had a great record and has beaten credible people like Mousasi and Roger Gracie. He would have done well in UFC.

What the fuck are you talking about. I post like 4-5 messages a week max. I don't troll threads about tna dude. Other than the ppvs, I don't fucking watch tna or wwe. So yeah, I do have a life which doesn't revolve around watching 8 hours wrestling per week. I fucking posted about a mma fighter to tna- a fighter whose fights I have watched and enjoyed and someone I am familiar with more than you cause I have watched him doing interviews after the fights. They guy isn't charismatic and just comes off as cocky. I pointed that out. He is a lifelong pro wrestling fan but that doesn't mean he is meant to be one. It was my opinion and I gave it . Fucking give it a rest.

When I read that King Mo was coming to TNA, I thought Sir Mo got a promotion.

If this clown is signed to a low end developmental deal, then I am all for it. But, this is TNA, and with the way they have already promoted him, you know damn well that he got paid. Maybe Spike is footing all of the bill, maybe they are not. But, historically, TNA has always came out of these type deals with nothing gained.

I don't care one way or the other, but it seems that King Mo will be another over priced flop. And, I don't like seeing the #2 company continually make the same mistake expecting that the outcome will change.

I don't have an issue with TNA signing this guy, but they should not push him immediately. Shoot some promo vignettes to introduce him to the fans. Book him in the undercard and see what he can do. If they like what they see, they can go from there.
