I remember in '03 or '04 when JBL did the Nazi Goose Step in Germany he got fired from his spot on MSNBC but McMahon was totally supportive.

This is a sign of the times. It's the pussification of society.

HBK Defending Jericho

"Had a nice txt'ing convo w/@IAmJericho and as always, he's handling things well. Just wanted to lend him some support!! :-) "

"Wow, waking up to find twitter blaming me for an apparent suspension of @IAmJericho. Seems to me I'd blame the horrific PC world we've allowed ourselves to be caught up in where you can't "act" & have it called "acting." BS!! I'll stand behind @IAmJericho any day of the week & twice on Sunday...what's the big "E" stand for in WWE anyway!!. I honestly don't see how many of you make it w/that much anger in your life...seems exhausting & a colossal waste of time!! See, that's all I've got & I'm already tired!! Time to workout & hit my day. Y'all have a wonderful day!! :-)

If the guys were told in advance of something like this, then Jericho should have known better. At least he was wise enough to apologize right away rather then go to jail, but still, it was cheap stupid heat. Looks like if WWE keeps this suspension, then his wrestling career is over.

He should've stayed in character & just got arrested but that would've been a WWF move 10 + years ago pry. wwe management could've followed him to the clink & poped him out quick if they weren't so PC obsessed these days. That would've been a nice way to have real heat mixed with kayfabe he could've used. The Brazilian fans & authorities know its all a work anyway. Also, I never really cared for Jericho but thought he was pretty entertaining in WCW & his WWF debut was a pretty cool build when he walked out & confronted The Rock who subsequently buried him in awesome fashion

I remember that & remember thinking it was a work as a kid lol But yeah Vader was held for awhile. Brazil isn't Kuwait though. As spooky as you think it'd be; he would've been fine in a Brazilian holding tank for a couple hours since hes a celebrity to boot. It would've made for some real heat fun. He could've apologized after. Everyone's scared & walking on tippy toes these days globally. Damn globalist mind fucking agendas, side issue..

Im going to disagree with Josh... if you have an opportunity to stay out of a foreign jail (or really any jail), take it.

Yeah. Even jail in a hippy town like Asheville, NC isn't something you should be okay with.

Yeah I dunno.. If he did get arrested the fans would think its just part of the act anyway I guess. It wasn't a televised show so pry not worth it all & all. I just find getting arrested in a public forum funny :P Wrestling is allowed to cross over the line once & awhile.. or that's what it used to mean anyway. It's still can be pretty racially & stereotypically charged from time to time which I find humorous. One of the few genres of entertainment that can get away with it still.

I've worked in a corporate structural this is what happens. Also this has nothing to do with being a good heel with the way the world is today you have to be smarter than trying to get cheap heat which is what this was. Jericho fucked up and he suspended for it. Quiet frankly its not like Chris Jericho has added anything to the product since coming back in the first place.

His debut was over the heads of most of hte crowd, his everyone is copying me went nowhere, his I'm the best in the World shit with CM Punk had to changed on the fly, the Drug stuff lost all its steam pretty quickly, CM Punk vs. Jericho at Wrestlemania was one of hte worst matches on the card, and besides a good Extreme Rules match at Extreme Rules he's done nothing of any value. This character is just flopping and now doing stupid shit like this for no reason did nothing for him

Ok I'll play along....

I have a career which is much better then a job. My boss is the Vice President for Retail as we have several divisions in our corporate structure including a culinary arts college. I am not only a professional chef, but I am also an instructor/teacher of culinary interns. Within our corporate structure, we have a lot of latitude on several matters. Outside of sexual harassment and slander, most other topics have a high rate of tolerance. However, it is my personal policy to my crew that we don't discuss matters of politics, religion, or SEC Football as invariably they lead to unproductive arguments and things don't get accomplished.

That being said...

You didn't make a point about why the corporate thing was relevant.

Regardless if you like Jericho or not, his actions as recorded on the above posted video is nothing inappropriate in the realm of a professional wrestling getting heel heat.

No one should be willing to go to jail over something they are doing as part of pro wrestling. Jericho did the right thing. I will say though I think it's really silly on Brazil's part to make a big deal out if it. The fact that anyone cares about a wrestler kicking a flag is insane to me.

Vader said in his shoot that the "jail" they held him in at Kuwait was more like a hotel suite and was actually pretty nice

But yeah I'm still gonna say going to jail in a foreign country is never a good proposition, you run a very high risk of bamboozlement ..

Probably has something to do with the fact people have fought and died representing those flags/countries. I find it ironic we are entering memorial day weekend and anyone doesn't understand how that might bother someone. I'm not saying what he did was wrong or inappropriate. But a lot of people are still sensitive when a foreigner disrespects their nations flag. Lord knows back in the 80's I saw my share of fans restrained by Police and security because some heel pissed them off.

No, I understand why people get upset about it. I just think it's an outdated way of thinking.

My name is Carlos and I was at the House Show yesterday in Sao Paulo.

I will not have time to write a report of the show now (maybe later), but I would like to discuss the Jericho incident. It happened after somebody threw a flag to CM Punk, who waved it and put it on the ground, prior to the match. Jericho then kicked it off the ground. He got the heat he was looking for but nobody seemed genuinely offended, except the police officers who went backstage (because, in the end, he did something against the Brazilian laws). Laurinaitis and a referee stopped the match, the ref spoke to Jericho and he grabbed the microphone and apologized, saying he was very happy to perform in Brazil. The fight continued and to me it was pretty much it, never thought he would be suspended. Personally, I was not offended at all and nobody sitting near me was offended. Hopefully he will not be suspended for long.

When your in a corporate structure especially a public one like Jericho is you can't do this type of shit in other Countries. What if Jericho did this in China? do you think it'd get no reaction from the government? Anyone remeber the story of Scott Norton while in North Korea? How about Bob Orton getting smuggled out of the Country after an incident with the Mafia in Japan. Some countries dont take that sort of thing well. This is not 1997 the world as changed and luckily Jericho was smart enough to realize it is a show and apologize and WWE gave him a suspenion. HOwever if this created a National Incident than WWE has to explain to the media and share holders why one of their top stars was doing things to a National Flag and for some reason.......I don't think Heel heat is going to go over really well.

If you read it says that Jericho spoke to Lauranitus and a Ref, then he apologized. I think he was going to stay in character until told to apologize.

JBL was rightly fired from his job on MSNBC who the fuck other than McMahon would support a guy who would goose step in a country where it was forbidden by law

WWE has announced that Chris Jericho's suspension is for 30 days for "denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE live event in São Paulo on May 24." This means that barring an exception for the PPV, he won't appear at No Way Out.

This should give Jericho some much needed time to get medical treatment for his caved-in pecs.

In all seriousness, Jericho should have looked into the situation before going through with it. The suspending him is so pc, but I can understand their reasoning.

Finlay was fired for having the National Anthem cut off during a house show to get heel heat for a wrestler. So, this shouldn't be overly surprising. Plus, isn't Jericho leaving in two months anyway?
