He won't be there...

- Kurt Angle has withdrawn from the National Wrestling Hall of Fame ceremony this weekend in Waterloo, Iowa. Kyle Klingman, the director of the Dan Gable Museum, said that Angle had to bow out due to TNA obligations. Angle was set to be honored at the event, which will feature appearances by WWE Hall of Famers Jim Ross and Jerry Brisco, Dan Severn, Road Warrior Animal and JBL.

Regarding JBL, Klingman said, "He is going to be a big draw because he really doesn't make appearances any more. From the feedback we've gotten his appearance has probably drawn the most interest. Everybody but Kurt is going to make it. It's going to be a fun weekend."

And the last thing Tna wants is for one of their top stars to be in a room with a bunch of pro wwe guys.

He should be there. Seems like too much of a prestigious event to pass up because of some "TNA Obligations"

If WWE had Kurt going in they have a camera crew there and interview everyone to put the guy over

They never had cameras for Flair's induction into the Pro Wrestling HOF back in 2006.

WWE's HOF doesn't compete with the Amateur wrestling HOF though.

Regarding Kurt Angle's induction, he was not there in person to accept. Angle claimed he couldn't attend due to obligations to TNA but he did not work last night's TNA live event in Memphis, Tennessee. Jim Ross revealed that Angle's award was auctioned off for $250 at the Hall of Fame ceremony:

"Kurt Angle was unable to attend the HOF in Waterloo 2nite. Jerry Brisco auctioned off the award 4 $250."

Kurt Angle Will Get Hall of Fame Plaque After All

Brisco got it back...

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame has announced that Kurt Angle will get his Hall of Fame plaque after all. He'll be sent the plaque he was to receive yesterday at the event in Waterloo, Iowa. Angle could not attend the event last night and Gerald Brisco ended up auctioning off the plaque for $250, but has since reacquired it. The plaque can be viewed below.

It's a really good and credible Hall of Fame. Sucks that Angle wasn't there to attend it.

Some information has been released as to why Gerald Brisco sold Kurt Angle's award from the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Angle was scheduled to show up for the event but he had to no show, either due to personal issues or that he was booked by TNA that night. He told Brisco a week before that he couldn't attend. Brisco was not happy that Angle missed the ceremony, and when he tried to play the acceptance speech Angle sent, it didn't work.

Brisco then, as a joke, said since Angle wasn't there he would auction off the award and give the money to the museum. He was offered $250 and sold the award. However, he later bought it back. Angle has said he would donate to the museum. (Credit: PWInsider)
