- On Sunday, TNA Impact Wrestling once again teamed up with Screenvision, a leading innovator in cinema advertising and alternative content programming, to bring Bound For Glory to fans nationwide in over 100 theaters across the United States. The turnout, however, was disastrous.

According to the Wrestler Observer Newsletter, it is estimated that between 500 and 1,000 people nationwide attended the 100 theater showings altogether. These figures are way below previous TNA shows, and also below UFC shows. UFC ceased airing shows in movie theaters since it wasn't considered cost effective.

Seemed like a bad idea.

Again when people have to pay for this product it fails! The attendance was only 2,900 which WWE gets more at House Shows, the buyrate will likely be around 10-15K if lucky and these Movie theaters thing was just kinda stupid.

This is the second time they've done this and failed this year. As the late great Owen Hart stated.... Enough is Enough and it's time for a change.

i think its a great idea, bet WWE could sell alot of tickets to Mania, but on the other hand, you would probably rather watch it at home in your house far away from the other dregs of society.

Yeah The people who think this could be profitable are just delusional. It was never going to work. this averages out to 3 to 8 people per a theater. Thats just a collisoal waste of time and money that TNA can't afford. Honestly if this idea was going to be profitable than the WWE Would be doing it

I'm in the minority maybe, but if these were around me I think it would be fun to go to.

I would probably check one out and then decide if I hate it.

I absolutely despise movie theaters, So I wouldn't even bother. I have probably been to 3 movies in 5 years. And all of them were at the ones where you can eat dinner and drink. I love movies, I just hate the movie theater.

Me, too. When I hear they're gonna be at theaters, I always check to see if they're gonna be at one near me but they always seem to be at much smaller markets... I went to a UFC at a theater a couple years ago and it was a blast...

I really enjoy seeing stuff on the big screen, it's a much different experience. Doing Dinner & A Movie I found it's really fun watching the older films on the big screen with a group of people who are into the same stuff. This has nothing to do with the TNA deal, but the grainer non HD prints of the movies add a lot of character to classic films IMO.

I feel the same way about going to the theater. Raiders of the Lost Ark is a perfect example. I've seen that movie dozens of times since I was a kid, but when it was re-released in theaters it was a completely different experience with an audience and on the big screen with that sound system.

I had a good time when I went to. I would go to any similar show be it TNA or WWE. Watching the show that way was a lot more enjoyable than just watching it at the house.

I saw that this was playing near me, and I thought about it, but money was tight and I worked the next day. I like the idea of watching a wrestling show on the big screen.

To go along with something Jack said, I absolutely love seeing old movies in theaters. This year, I've seen Hitchcock's Psycho, The Birds, and Vertigo and it's a completely different experience. Psycho was the best, because it was in the historic Tennessee Theatre and the crowd was hot. The Birds was in a newer theater, but still had a hot crowd. Vertigo, unfortunately, was in a small town in Kentucky, and there were 7 people in the theater, including a teenage girl who proclaimed the movie to be "stupid" when it ended.

Wednesday, though, I'm going to watch a double feature of Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein. I've wanted to see those on the big screen since I was a kid, and never really figured I'd get the chance. So even though I'm working my ass off at my job this week, I've already bought my ticket.

I live right next to a college town & a bar there has all the wrestling ppv's I've mentioned it before. Legit nice place, good food etc. & everyone has fun with it. Big crowd for Mania to. Most of my friends think wrestling "WWE" is bullshit now anyway but I can rope some of them in to stopping out for an occasional ppv. It's better than theater atmosphere far as wrestling's concerned. A couple of the screens there are huge enough anyway. It'd be cool to see once or twice maybe but eh, I wouldn't make a habit of going. So yeah, search around you're area for a bar to watch ppv's at lol best fun option in my book.
