Former WWE executive Court Bauer sent me (Ryan Clark of Wrestling Inc.) a message moments ago that Eric Pankowski is out as Senior Vice President of Creative and Development at WWE.

Pankowski was hired in February of last year. He was reporting to Stephanie McMahon, and was responsible for the creative development of television content, managing WWE's creative writing teams and selling programming.

Speaking of Court, the latest episode of Wrestling Inc. Weekly with Court and myself is now available on iTunes at this link. In this week's episode, Court and I discuss Paul Bearer's passing, The Rock vs. John Cena not generating interest, The Undertaker's return, the build-up for WrestleMania so far, why managers should be brought back, Ric Flair and more.

I wish this meant a power vacuum for Paul Heyman to fill.

We noted before that WWE parted ways with WWE Creative head Eric Pankowski earlier this week. Word going around is that Pankowski was removed from his position because he wasn't receptive to ideas beyond his own and that eventually cost him allies within the company.

Pankowski was described as not knowing how to deal with personalities while in a position that required him to deal with a lot of different personalities. There were a few incidents where Pankowski and some of the wrestlers got into arguments over what would work and what wouldn't on WWE TV. It was described as a "Hollywood mindset not adapting to the pro wrestling mindset, and instead trying to force the opposite."

Nobody within WWE was surprised by the change but some were surprised that it happened before WrestleMania 29.
