Prior to Lord Tensai's match with Yoshi Tatsu on Raw, WWE has security confiscate signs that ha mentions of, "Prince Albert, Albert and A-Train." While they removed the signs, the crowd could be heard chanting "Albert" during the bout.

WWE has acknowledged his past as a former WWE superstar on TV, but never mentioned his previous gimmicks. WWE.com did mention that he competed as Albert and A-Train before "embarking on a journey of self-discovery in Japan."

Why should they? it's called Free Speech. I have never seen a list of rules that say you can't bring this sign or that sign.

I understand taking signs with profanity or vulgar remarks and even if somebody is plugging a website or business. But I just think anything else is wrong.

Even John Cena has gotten on to WWE in promos for taking signs when they were taking Zack Ryder signs. It just says how uptight they are to me.

Congress didn't ban the Albert signs... This is totally kosher under the 1st Amendment.

I think all signs should be banned. I have hated them ever since a time I went to the Omni in 1989... and some ass hole kept blocking my view. I threw my container of popcorn at him.

Some people do go a little overboard with signs. But you pay a lot for a ticket to a WWE event. Why shouldn't you be able to show your support for whoever you like and however you like (as long as it doesn't hurt anyone). I have NEVER agreed with WWE taking any signs from paying fans.

You don't hear of the NBA taking things from fans...ever see when the players go for a free-throw? A lot of stuff being waved around trying to distract the player. It shows the NBA isn't so uptight IMO.

From someone who takes his kids to WWE shows, i agree that no signs should be allowed. It's hard enough asking grown men to have the common respect not to stand on there chair and block the veiws of people behind them. In a decent society where adults have some civility, then they could bring them, raise them to show support, and PUT THEM DOWN. But no some jack off has to stand in front of me for a whole card with his oh so witty "Kill Cena" sign.

Possibly when my son is old enough to go I may change my mind. I can handle it personally but, when you have a kid with you I can see that point.

As I said before a lot of people go overboard with their signs. They all want them on TV. People should have some common courtesy if they do bring them. But I still think if you pay for a ticket you have a right.

One Freedom of Speech is so not understood in terms of the American public. Secondly you are paying to go to an event and why should WWE allow a couple of losers to try and make themselves part of the show? Why bring the sign other than to show "Hahahaha, we know its you Albert, Because were smart fans" Fuck them!

I tend to agree that most people with signs should just leave them at home...there are exceptions of course...If you have a sign that is supporting your favorite wrestler or the like then that's cool...but I don't want to see the damn thing the entire show. When your wrestler comes to the ring, it's definitely appropriate to show your sign/support etc...

Conversely, I don't want to see your sign for say Cena, when he isn't even in the match at hand. It makes no sense to me. At that point you're just obnoxious and should just go away. Similarly, the stupid signs of say "Fred" with an arrow pointing to the person is equally stupid, IMO. And personally, after most people are out of college, I would think their sign making would curtail significantly. Maybe I'm wrong and just an old guy who doesn't get it anymore and if that's the case, so be it.

If people would have some common courtesy for the people around them, it would go a long way.

I sound so like my dad it's just sad....sigh

I dare say most of the rights we have in America, aren't understood by the average guy on the street. Because our history, government, and civics classes are a bunch of watered down crap and don't adequately prepare people by teaching the truth, we have a bunch of functionally retarded citizens who don't understand anything about the principles that this country was founded on. Sigh, I gotta get off my soap box....

I don't know I enjoyed back in the 90's when WWE and WCW didn't pay any attention to the signs. There would be some crazy stuff.

I don't mind them when I see them on TV... when they are like a giant palm tree blocking my view, I get angry

I really think it's pointless to take down the signs. Noticeable chants of "Albert" were ringing throughout his match with Yoshi on Monday anyway. They need to acknowledge who he was in the WWE and why he changed his character upon returning to the company.

I mentioned in the chat during RAW that it would have been a better idea if the E produced several vignettes featuring Albert in Japan as his previous gimmick in the WWE.... A-Train. They could have filmed a series of vignettes where he studies and trains with Japanese Masters in a do-jo. Once there, he graduates from the do-jo and is given the name Lord Tensai by the Japanese Masters. His quest......... return to the WWE and become the WWE Champion. That would have been more interesting than just showing a couple of promos of his current manager as they did prior to his debut. I like the character more than most here, but they dropped the ball on building interest and explaining the development of his character.

If you don't care, then why take the signs away ? They say he was anyway, so I dunno why WWE is concerned over it.

Thats not the point I'm getting it. It's the jerk fans that go to these events. Its like "Look at us we're so smart! we know who a wrestler used to be called 10 years ago!" I mean really get over it.

I wonder if people used to chant Cassius at Mohamed Ali fights.

First they came for the flippety-faggots,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a flippety-faggot.

Then they came for the IWC darlings,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a IWC darling.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the smart marks
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

You pay good money to see the show, you should be able to bring in what you want obviously not something racist etc. But there is no crime in bringing a 'albert' sign.

What about the person who sits behind the guy holding up his super cool Albert sign all show long? Didn't he pay good money?
