I want to see them and see them do well. The last show might have had problems, but it drew a crowd. I am not sure why people want these guys to fail so bad, like you get enjoyment out of them not doing well.

I don't understand the hatred either. It's just ridiculous.

I don't get enjoyment out of them not doing well, I just don't see any possible way at this point that they can do well from a quality standpoint. If people want to continue to give them money for it, more power to them, but can't see future editions being any less of a clusterfuck than the last one.

Well, they want to start using more young indy talent to work with the established names to help get them seen by more people. They don't want to have it all old ECW guys wrestling every show.

in the case of tna when i see people bash them all the time, i think what the hell just be happy there is an alternative to wwe, its just i really feel the taste for ecw has completly gone after wwe ruined it

I can't say I want to see ECW come back or that I was excited about the reunion shows. But I don't understand why anyone would get upset about it or want to see them fail.

because its an embarrassment to the industry. They are everything that is wrong with wrestling.

How many times have you heard Shane Douglas rip older generation wrestlers for holding him back or not knowing when to quit? I can honestly not remember an interview where he hasn't mentioned it in some form or fashion. They are washed up guys who need to move on with their lives, they are whoring off the business that has been dead for 10 years and I don't buy for a second this were going to use young guys crap. If thats what he wanted than he'd have though guys on the show without ECW or calling it Extreme Reunion.

They are just hasbeens and in some cases barely hasbeens holding on for their last breath of relevance working off concepts that have not drawn in over 10 years. I mean this is why TNA wrestling failed on Mondays because instead of trying to be original they tried to go backwards. do i want to see these guys fail? No, i'd love to see them be successful but lets not pretend like these guys haven't done every desperate thing in the book to keep whoring off the initials ECW. Most of these guys even got their paydays and still refuse to give it up.

i think the idea of a "spin-off" extreme promotion with a heavy roster of ECW "originals" is a fair idea, it is not preposterous.

looking at what is out there on the indies right now, if they get a good mix of veterans and young guys it could be in interesting, but I still think you need a heck of a booker to do some inspiring story-telling

If they bring in more new talents, like 50/50 in the next show, then yes. If not, then nope.

Thing is, what indie talent can they bring in that's not all over the other "name" indies right now?

Well. This show drew bigger than any ROH, DGUSA, NWA or Chikara show all year.

I wanna see Shane and company do well. I don't wanna see them fail. I know after all of the hype I heard from Shane's various interviews and all of the stuff that's been going on to build this show up, I was really looking forward to this and was seriously considering buying the DVD of the show that happened last night (which shows just how much I was looking forward to this, trust me I rarely buy stuff online and rarely get any PPVs or wrestling DVDs these days at all). But after reading what I have about the show, I'm probably not going to be buying the DVD now. It seems like the show had some real problems, but I'm hoping that it's just growing pains and that by the second show things will have worked out for them. It seems like they started some story lines and it really seems like they're trying hard to get something good off of the ground here. I'd love to see them get shit straightened out and be an adult oriented alternative to the WWE and TNA. Hell, wrestling really does need something like that right now.

Okay, but after the crowd response, how many of them are coming back next time? And it still doesn't answer the question of what names can they bring in aside from those all over the lower drawing shows?

and thats not really an accomplishment.

Ring of Honor: On the decline for the past 4 years at least and combined with booking taking the business back to 1992 and a horrible TV spot not really a serious competitor

DGUSA: Its just the old ROH booker's wet dream

NWA: A bunch of shitty promotions under a banner that doesn't matter anymore

and Chikara: Undersized performers in cheesy gimmicks

None of though Indy's are that healthy and they don't have the luxery to bastardize ECW

Also what is the deal with the Adult orientied shows TNA and the indys are adult oriented and don't draw shouldn't that tell you thats the problem?

Besides ROH, I don't see any other indy company getting as much attention on the board than this Extreme Reunion concept by Shane Douglas. That in itself is impressive.... It's drawn up enough emotion for people to care and generate a buzz, which is exactly what he wants.

It wouldn't shock me one bit if he drew more fans in June.

Maybe nobody who knows. Maybe everyone should just close up who aren't WWE.

Why does a guy in his mid 20s with no kids want to watch children's programming so badly ? It's kinda strange.

99% of wrestling fans do not watch or go to wrestling shows to see new people... The new people just get accepted after a while as we are watching the guys who originally attracted us to watch.
