This Is Taken From Wrestling-News.net:

In speaking to several sources over the weekend I can confirm that Dustin Runnels, better known under the name of Goldust during his WWE career was released from his contract with the company. Runnels competed for the company on its RAW brand and was a producer for the company on its SmackDown brand and is the person in question in regards to Kevin Nash’s tweet early last week on Twitter.

Runnels, who had been heavily hyping a potential feud against his brother Cody Rhodes on Twitter at WrestleMania XXVIII, which never happened, returned briefly to television towards the end of 2011 on several episodes of SmackDown, as well as the WWE Slammy Awards show, with his last appearance coming on the April 9th, 2012 edition of WWE Monday Night RAW when he and other WWE officials attempted to break up the brawl between Brock Lesnar and John Cena that left Cena with a busted lip.

This reeks of internet rumors, but if it is indeed true and there was no proper feud or tag team between him and Cody then I have to say that the WWE really dropped the ball.

Talk about a fuck up. A Goldust/Dustin vs. Cody feud would have been great IMO.

I wouldve much preferred a Cody-Dustin feud rather than the Big Show..The promos wouldve been great, especially getting Dusty involved, and the matches wouldve been a helluva lot better.

As noted before, Goldust was recently released by WWE after working as a producer for the SmackDown brand. Word came out that an undisclosed incident at the April 24th SmackDown tapings in Grand Rapids, Michigan led to his contract being terminated.

F4Wonline.com now reports that the belief is that Goldust was responsible for coming up with the spot on SmackDown where Yoshi Tatsu took a double-team powerbomb finisher from Darren Young and Titus O'Neil. Tatsu landed bad and the bump was said to look even worse live than it did on TV.

Young and O'Neil were not in action on the May 4th SmackDown but did work this week's tapings, using a different finishing move.

That move did look pretty bad on TV. I can't even imagine how bad it looked live.

Yeah I slightly doubt this

If it came from a site you looked at, it'd be true though...

It does sound iffy to fire someone for one bad idea.

There is a huge difference between putting a bad spot on television and Fit Finlay who admitted he deserved to be fired for it having Miz interrupt America the Beautitful on a show sponsered by the National Guard. Lets put some perspective into that

I have to agree with XT.

Did anyone actually see the move, it looked dangerous. I blame Goldust and not Young/O Neil

You said that they don't fire guys for one bad idea and I pointed out they had before, there is no difference. You never said a reason why all you said was that they don't fire guys for one bad idea.

Dude your a fucking idiot if you think thats the same thing because clearly its not. Finlay in a bad attempt to get heel heat insulted a sponser, and the National Guard Members in the audience. If this story is true which I highly doubt he put a bad spot into a match with four people most fans wouldn't know if they were in front of him

Eh. Finlay saying he should be fired was just trying to keep his WWE options there. It was a stupid reason to fire anyone. It was just basic heel heat that they have been doing since the dawn of pro wrestling. I'd say a spot that might have actually injured a guy is worse for your company.

Look I'm not arguing that what Finlay and Goldust did wasn't different. You said that they don't get rid of a guy for one bad idea...obviously they have before. You didn't say they have never got rid of a guy for the same thing or add anything else. Read your statement again. You really blew this one out of proportion.

The Finlay thing reminded me alot of the Bradshaw incident. Sometimes you just have to watch your enviroment.
