Jerry "the t shirt" Lawler has yet again given me a reason to hate him and earned himself some sweet memphis heat! In the opening moments of lastnights playoff game between the Memphis Grizzlies and tha LA Clippers they had a fan in jeans and a Clippers shirt come on the court and talk some trash. Lawler then got out of his front row seat in tights and boots and proceeded to piledrive this man on the hardwood floor (props to lawler and the guy bumping actually, it looked like he fucking murdered him). As a lifelong Clippers fan I was pissed, but as a lifelong wrestling fan, it was one of the only wrestling moments that has got me excited in years. Not to mention he got 30 thousand screamiong memphis fans to cheer for wrestling again!! We need more Hardwood slams and full court presses!!!!

The move has been banned in Memphis for decades now... Lawler is going to be in some trouble when the Athletic Commission finds out.

I just read it was a local wrestler. It would be nice if they released his name for a little press though.

Barkley and Shaq marking out for highlights was classic stuff. Pro athletes seem to be one of the few people in the spotlight that will still admit they love some wrasslin!!

The greatest thing I have ever heard was a local sports radio host named Gary Parrish interviewing a guy named Andy Kaufman and half the city went ape shit calling into the studio wanting to kill the Kaufman guy.

Gary did a good job of splicing audio making the interview awesome, but man... Made me realize two things. 1. Andy was even more great that nearly 3 decades later he could get a city in an uproar 2. How the hell half of Memphis had no idea that a. It was a taped Andy and b. had no memory of the original is just sad. I'm going to have to pull the audio, just flat out awesome.

If you want to hear some crazy stories about Andy Kaufman check out Marc Maron's WTF podcast with Bob Zmuda. I wont spoil anything but there's a reason he wore so many layers when he wrestled...................................................

Lawlers popularity never fails to still amaze me, even when it seems like its in a drought.
