Here are results from last night's ROH Border Wars iPPV:

* Eddie Edwards defeated Rhino.

* The All Night Xpress and TJ Perkins defeated The Young Bucks and Mike Mondo after Perkins hit a 450 Splash on Matt to get the win.

* Jay Lethal defeated Tommaso Ciampa (with Embassy Ltd) with the Lethal Combination.

* Lance Storm defeated Mike Bennett with a superkick. Storm thanked the crowd after the match, and said it meant a lot to him to return in Toronto.

* Michael Elgin defeated Adam Cole (with Truth Martini) with a sit out power bomb.

* Roderick Strong defeated Fit Finlay with a boot to the head to retain the ROH TV title.

* Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin defeated The Briscoes to become the new ROH Tag Team Champions.

* Kevin Steen (with Jimmy Jacobs) defeated Davey Richards with a package piledriver to become the new ROH World Champion. Steve Corino came into the ring after the match to celebrate with Steen and Jacobs.

Well, you know...

It's a relatively new medium. They'll work out the kinks.

Dude you know this is why Ring of Honor is going down the drain because its a new technology? Okay then why don't you go to another provider? Or wait till the technology can handle the Demand? These shows aren't drawing all that many fans so something tells me that this is a bullshit excuse from a company that is clealry on a slide and probably isn't going to be around in 10 years

No a company that is clearly mismanaged had a hot run 6 years ago and can't book its talent anymore is on a slide a clear slide. THis has NOTHING to do with the WWE. They lost their DVD revenue and they put their chips in with overrated tools like Davey Richards and now your starting to see the results

Its another matter that wwe subjects to bore the audience with fucking squash matches on ppvs and with grown fat men dancing rather than giving them what they paid for. Fucking idiot.

See, silly stuff was always on wwe programming. Much less so on ppvs. And when it was there, the participants were at least watchable. Watching today's stuff makes me cringe. Mind you, I haven't been watchin wwe for the past 20 years. Its only since the late 90's. The comedy characters then used to be entertaining like the godfather and others. Also, you can't compare today's wwe to that of 20 years ago. Different mind set of the audience. It can't be the same cartoon shit as in the early 90's.

Bryan,Swagger, Punk, and especially Rhodes and Ziggler make it more then worth watching for me. Oh and Kofi and R-truth as well. Alot of good talent. It wasn't a great Raw. And WWE lately is going from 5's to 10's and everywhere in between. But to pretend that silly stuff didn't happen in the 90s, is even more silly. Even the sacred ECW had the BWO and the FBI huge comedy acts. Also the Dudleys were comedy acts when they debuted. Nostalgia is a funny thing, everything is better before.

When did I pretend that there was no silly stuff in wwe in the 90's. Don't twist my posts to try and make your point. WWE was filled with silly stuff in the early 90's. But that was a different time.
What I have watched of the FBI, or BWO or the dudleys from ECW, they had the audience eating out of their hands. Other than Santino, none of wwe's silly stuff is even mildly entertaining. Are they only producing stuff to entertain 10 year olds. If so, what does it say about the audience. Are you entertained by hornswaggle and Bordus Clay dancing like idiots?
Anyways, this is a roh thread. Why discuss wwe every time?

The early 90s WWF was one of their lowest points in history. I like comedy if done well, as Indiandude pointed out. I don't want comedy and sillyness in every single feud and storyline.

I've heard about these ROH iPPV problems and they better get their shit straight. They were the 1st company to do these ppvs and yet a bunch of other indy promotions are not having as many problems with their technology as ROH is. I can't imagine paying $20 for show and not see anything and it's not even my computers fault. I would feel robbed.

Probably gonna download it and check it out, the card had me kinda interested, mainly cuz of the non-ROH guys, (Storm, Rhino, FInlay) and to see the Steen title win

For me the thing that makes ROH the best promotion to watch is their in ring matches blows what wwe and tna does out of the water. Keep your 30% comedy and skits and promos.

As for Richards and/or Briscoe's still being the champ on TV, The event happened Saturday. The next ROH TV show is this weekend and they should mention it somewhere in the content. That is the one issue with them only being taped they way they are.

Why is it that every attack on ROH or TNA on this board becomes well either lets ignore the problem or well WWE?

I'll make this clear and to the point there is a reason WWE draws money and has millions of fans and Ring of Honor has been on a downward slide for 5 years, there is a reason no one cares about TNA. I've made htis statement before and I'll make it again clearly there is a larger fanbase who enjoy WWE so clearly there is a problem with the way you watch wrestling if you expect them to change it.

As for WWE, right now WWE has basically been smart and over the past 5 years build up younger stars and have a solid young roster, this silliness is the biggest hyprocritical thing about people on the internet. They hammer it but everyone ignores the fact that this silliness is no different than DX in the 90s, ECW, Hell go back ot the NWA days. The so called fat guy dancing draws more money than David Richards which should tell you something. There is nothing wrong with comedy in Wrestling and clearly WWE doesn't use it in every feud and segment.

Well anyone who enjoys the Chikara on RoH then complaigns that the WWE is silly is kind of a hypocrite. And i love both promotions. I actually but Quak up there with some of the best promoters out there. But cmon, Chikara gets silly sometimes, on purpose, but still silly.

I'm just glad Steen has the belt. He's the best guy in ROH by a huge margin. I haven't seen the show yet, I'll probably wait for the DVD. Davey Richards' title run did a lot of damage to him. He wasn't booked as a good champion. The build to him winning the belt was a great angle. They made you wait almost two full years to see him finally get the belt. Then when he got it he did nothing with it. It's a shame to because I think winning the title meant a lot to him. And it meant a lot to me to see him win it.
