WWE sent out the following survey this week, regarding the possibility of a new Saturday morning TV show…

"Imagine a weekly, half hour WWE television show on Saturday mornings that included highlights of the best action and funniest moments from recent WWE events and from the past. The show would feature fun segments with WWE Superstars both in the ring and behind the scenes to give viewers a chance to get to know them even better. Every episode would also include one action-packed match featuring different WWE Superstars each week"

Based on this description, please rate the following show titles on a scale of 1-5 (5-excellent; 4-good; 3-neutral; 2-fair; 1-poor):

WWE Saturday Morning Slam
WWE Jakked
WWE Amp'd
WWE Supercharge
WWE Turbocharge

Gimme back my wrestling on Saturday. I don't care what it's called or which promotion does it.

WWE Launching Saturday Morning Show This Month

Sources: Los Angeles Times

WWE will launch a Saturday morning program geared towards children on August 25, Los Angeles Time reports.

In two weeks, Saban Brands will launch Vortexx, a five-hour block of original children's programming aimed at young boys. The slate of shows will air on the CW television network, with WWE Saturday Morning Slam anchoring the block.

The half-hour program will feature one wrestling match a week, as well as Superstar profiles, behind-the-scenes footage and anti-bullying messages via 'be a STAR.'

Saban Brands approached WWE about doing the show after executives noticed toys featuring WWE Superstars were among the best-selling items. According to Los Angeles Times, WWE's research shows that children, including a "healthy contingent" of boys younger than 12, consist of 22% of their viewing audience. Saban and WWE are hoping to capitalize on the data with Saturday Morning Slam.

Eric Pankowski, senior vice president for WWE creative and development, said the organization is aware of potential media concerns of violence airing on a program geared toward children.

"We are very sensitive to the fact that we are speaking to an audience of children," said Pankowski. "We want to make sure that the content that we put on at 10 o'clock on Saturday morning is appropriate for younger audiences."

Eh, when they brought back Superstars everyone was talking about great it was gonna be. Those shows were great to us because we grew up then, and it was all that was on. With RAW live for 3 hours every Monday plus Smackdown for another 2 who needs a Saturday morning show ?

From what the article says, most of us won't be watching this show anyway. It says it's aimed at "Young Boys" which sounds creepy first of all, and a 5 hour block. I said I wanted wrestling back on Saturday, but this isn't really what I had in mind...

I've never been interested in a Saturday morning show... now I do still itch at 6:05.

Saban Brands has announced the line-up for its programming block, dubbed Vortexx, which debuts nationwide on The CW on August 25 and will be anchored by WWE Saturday Morning Slam at 10:00 a.m. WWE will be preceded by Iron Man: Armored Adventures and Justice League Unlimited and followed by Dragonball Z Kai. The official description for WWE Saturday Morning Slam reads:

"WWE Saturday Morning Slam packs the riveting in-ring action, the larger-than-life WWE Superstars, and WWE's kid-friendly entertainment into the fastest, most energy-filled half-hour on television. WWE Superstar profiles, behind-the-scenes footage and an exclusive WWE match every week will all combine to make WWE Saturday Morning Slam the perfect destination for the youngest viewers in the WWE Universe."

- On August 25, WWE returns to a kids' television time slot with WWE Saturday Morning Slam as part of a five-hour television block on The CW. According to F4WOnline.com, kid-friendly Superstar Hornswoggle is under consideration to host the show. WWE officials have long-term plans for the show as they want it to be a success rather than another program with minimal effort put in that ultimately falls by the wayside.

Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader Branden Dross for sending this photo of the set for WWE's new Saturday morning show, Saturday Morning Slam. Kofi Kingston vs. Heath Slater and Alex Riley vs. Jinder Mahal were taped at last night's SmackDown tapings for the debut episode.

WWE Institutes New Rule For Matches Taped For Saturday Morning Slam

What is the new rule?

- Word is that WWE has instituted an "unspoken"rule for matches that take place on the new WWE Saturday Morning Slam show. The new show, which is aimed at children, will not feature moves aimed at the neck, which would include anything from a simple headlock to the RKO.

The feeling is that with the show being aimed at children, that moves performed to the neck might come off as too violent. With that being the case, WWE is avoiding any type of offense that gives the appearance of "snapping" or targeting the neck area.

The show debuts on the CW Network on August 25th.

Oh boy, I've always wanted to watch a G-rated WWE show featuring only low-card wrestlers. Wait a mintue, don't they already have a kids show? Isn't it called RAW?

Well I'm glad violence for kids is ok, as long as it is not aimed at the neck.

An idea like this seems more suited for the WWE Network... whenever it debuts finally.

Their Saturday line-up should be this..... (ALL OLD SCHOOL episodes!)

Morning.... NWA World Championship Wrestling
Noon..... WCW World Wide Wrestling
Afternoon.... WWF Superstars
Evening.... WCW Saturday Night
Night..... WWF Shotgun Saturday Night
Midnight.... ECW Hardcore TV

*The E can put whatever new show featuring the present day roster between any of the previously mentioned shows. It wouldn't bother me one bit if they chose not to have one and select to go with the old school stuff.
